We provide support for production, editing, duplication and format conversion of video and audio programs, from a wide variety of sources. Audio recordings of lecturesThere is a strong and growing demand for recordings of lectures. Lecturers can easily make an audio recording on the computer, in any suitably equipped lecture theatre. To assist Academics, AV Support can automatically schedule recordings for the whole semester. Video recordings of lecturesAV Support can video record your lecture to include any visual material being used. Prior notice of at least 48hrs is required so relevant staffing can be arranged. Permission to record a lecture by a QUT studentAudio/Video recordings of lectures may result in complicated copyright issues. As such, all students are requested to complete the "Permission to record a lecture by a QUT student" form prior to commencing a recording of a lecture. Video format conversion and duplicationsWe can convert video programs from tape to DVD, or from one digital format to another. We can prepare media in any format for uploading to QUT Blackboard. Digital video/audio editingFacilities are available for editing video from any format, including titling and DVD mastering. Recording of TV programs - off air recordingsAV Support Services record TV and radio programs broadcast in Brisbane. Recording during set hoursUnder the terms of the agreement between the Australian universities and the Screenrights organisation, which represents copyright owners, QUT records programs in set hours on the ABC and SBS plus the Commercial Stations (7, 9 & 10), which are then held for a period of 28 days. Clients may request a copy of a program from any of the channels recorded during the preceding 28 days. Recording on requestPrograms can also be recorded from certain satellite and radio stations as well as from certain Foxtel channels. These will only be recorded on request. Foxtel program guides are available on each campus, at the AV Services main office. Clients may also check the Foxtel web site for full program details.
